On a personal note...
Whenever I go out to a business networking function these days, a question I am often asked is, "Are you on Facebook or Twitter?" I've been on Facebook for almost two years now and as a Social Marketing Strategist, it has been a great way to connect with colleagues all over the world, make new friends and begin relationships with prospective clients, as well as foster existing relationships.
A lot of our clients are afraid of the online social networking world because it seems like:
- a waste of time,
- they don't know what they're supposed to do once it's setup,
- or how it's supposed to bring in new clients or foster existing relationships.
We work with clients to help them build another layer in their marketing funnel, or to put it another way, another tool in their marketing toolkit. Online marketing is a powerful tool if it's used the right way and done consistently.
Some of our clients would like us to train them how to use Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and other social sites. Then, they're on their own (with a little etiquette and guidance from us on occasion). Others want an integrated approach. We setup the accounts, show them the basics and then we handle the ongoing maintenance. Still, others just don't have the time nor the inclination to work this aspect of their marketing funnel, so we manage the entire social marketing arm of their business for them. We simply alert them when a prospect is interested in their products/services and they take it from there.
Soon, we'll be offering online classes on Social Marketing basics as well as Teleseminar basics. Michelle is available to speak with your association or group for presentations both online and in person on any of the services we provide. Of course, social marketing is a HOT topic these days.
